The European Marie Curie Initial Training Network DAGAL ("Detailed Anatomy of Galaxies") (dagalnetwork.eu), financed by the 7th Framework Programme of Research and Technological Development of the European Union and coordinated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) under the leadership of Johan Knapen, will have its final meeting in Toledo during the conference on "Formation and Evolution of Galaxy Outskirts". The conference, organized by the Complutense University of Madrid, with patronage by the IAC, and under the auspices of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), will be held between 14th and 18th March, 2016 in Toledo, a World Heritage City.
The objective of the conference is to bring together different strands of knowledge about the formation and evolution of the outermost reaches of galaxies, from local objects to the most distant galaxies in the universe, making use of the most powerful telescopes and of state of the art simulations. It is a newish and demanding field which demands a great deal of the newest infrastructures, which should ensure the interest of companies and of the general public.
The deadline for paying inscriptions and for requests to give talks will be on 18th December.
