The Moon and the ISS

Image of the ISS taken from the IAC headquarters on 2 November 2020 (the 20th anniversary of the astronauts' stay on the ISS) with a VISAC 8" telescope and ASI1600MM camera equipped with a filter wheel. The moment of the ISS flyby is taken through the L filter, resulting in 7 frames of the ISS passing in front of the Moon, while in the following minutes about 1,000 images are taken in the RGB filters to compose a colour image of the Moon and obtain more detail of the lunar surface. Although the ISS appears to be flying over the Moon, this is not the case. The ISS was just over 400 km above our heads, while the Moon was about a thousand times further away (Credits: A.
